What ways of coping do you find useful after a loss of a beloved Pet?
was curious what different things you might do to get over the loss of a beloved pet. I just lost my 4 month old Colt sunday to colic. He was literally like my baby and i’m completely devestated. it’s like someone in my family has died. I’ve been crying on and off since Sunday and i was looking for somehting i could to to try and ease this sickening feeling of pain in my chest. I was thinking about getting a bracelet with his birthstone in it to wear ( As i said i’ve been with him since he was born, he was my baby) but i dont know. Do any of you have any ideas? Thanks

Last year my dog Rose died right before I started my senior year in high school. I. Was. Devastated. I never thought I could cry that much over a pet, but I did. She was like my best friend, since I was 4 years old, so it was huge. After she died, I thought about her a lot, which is normal, but as time passes those thoughts do diminish somewhat.
Even today I still dream about her and cry over her sometimes (especially when I watch ‘Marley and Me’), and I miss her like crazy, but what helps is remembering the good times I had with her.
I LOVE horses, so I can only imagine what it feels like to lose a baby one, but I think you’ll be alright. At least he’s not suffering anymore. You wouldn’t want him to stay alive and continue to be sick, would you? So, that’s a plus.
I think the bracelet is a cute idea. After my dog died, I picked a rose from a garden and keep it in my room as a reminder of her.
